Neck-and-neck election plunges Germany into limbo

BERLIN (Reuters) - Voters plunged Germany into political limbo on Sunday, splitting their ballots between Angela Merkel's conservatives and Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder's Social Democrats (SPD) so evenly that both claimed victory.
