Red Cross seeks 40,000 volunteers

The American Red Cross made an urgent call Saturday for 40,000 new volunteers to help feed, house and comfort Hurricane Katrina victims. Meanwhile, the Army Corps of Engineers estimated New Orleans could be drained in about three weeks instead of the earlier estimate of 80 days.
