CNET Ranks Mozilla Firefox in Top Ten Products

Percy wrote in to tell us that CNET has included Mozilla Firefox in its list of the top ten products. Firefox in the middle of the chart at number five, behind the iPod, TiVo, Google and Napster (the illegal peer-to-peer version), but ahead of the Palm Pilot, the Motorola Startac, the Apple iMac, the Sony Digital Mavica MVC-HD5 and The Sims.

On Firefox, CNET says: "Sure, Mozilla has been around for many years, but Firefox 1.0 brought the open-source browser into the mainstream. Some never thought Mozilla could make it as anything more than a geek badge of pride. The light, secure, and efficient Firefox is legitimately challenging Internet Explorer's stranglehold on Web browsing."

The list was produced as part of CNET's tenth anniversary celebrations. Earlier this year, Firefox made CNET's list of the top ten downloads of the past decade.
