Dead taken from New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - With pumps slowly emptying New Orleans of the flood waters that turned it into a ghost town, the death count from Hurricane Katrina grew on Saturday, although to nowhere near the level apprehensive officials had feared.
